National Service Center       DESIGNATION OF PRESUMED ASBESTOS-CONTAINING MATERIALS The recently promulgated OSHA Standard Occupational Exposure to Asbestos; Final Rule requires both building owners and business occupants to identify through the process of "designation" the presumed asbestos-containing materials "PACM" within all buildings and industrial facilities. An owner or occupant must assume PACM materials contain asbestos unless Objective Data is established by following OSHA protocols for identification.
