INDUSTRIAL SAFETY SERVICES
There is a long history of debate in this country concerning the cost of preventing accidents and their ultimate effect upon industry. Historically, the prevailing view was that accident prevention programs were too costly and time consuming. The modern view is that accidents are too costly and that accident prevention makes economic and business sense. As a result of this new economic reality, the argument for accident prevention has been changed from one with a moral basis, to one based upon improved economic returns.
A safe industrial workplace is a result of a thorough examination and assessment of physical hazards combined with an effective program of hazard abatement and accident investigation. At the same time, an effective program addresses the Occupational Safety and Health Administration ("OSHA") regulatory requirements, including the Hazard Communication standards (29 CFR §1910.1200), written policies and procedures, recordkeeping requirements, worker notification, safety and health training, competent supervision and management, and periodic refresher training.
An effective Heath and Safety program must contain all the OSHA programmatic elements as well as the site-specific physical and health hazards, management commitment and leadership, clearly defined responsibility, identification and control of hazards, hazard analysis, employee training and education, recordkeeping, and planned emergency response and remediation.
Southern Global Safety Services has years of experience in identifying hazards, developing the policies and procedures to address those hazards, creating worker and construction safety plans, training the employees, and supervising their effective implementation. Our experience spans the scope of industrial safety situations from the small manufacturing business to the largest single construction project performed -- $8,600,000,000 Pipeline Constructions – Safety Oversight!
